Oklahoma Bible Academy’s Koy Schneider – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Insurance Services Northwest

For Oklahoma Bible Academy sophomore Koy Schneider, success on the baseball field means more than stats or highlights—it’s about giving his best effort while honoring his faith.

“My mindset when I step on the field is to play baseball in a way that honors God,” Schneider said. “It’s always about more than just sports for me.”

Schneider is a multi-position player for the Trojans, contributing as a shortstop, pitcher and catcher. His vision for this season is clear and focused. “I want to get the all-conference batting award,” he said.

The team around him has impressed with its energy and effort. “It has been really good,” Schneider said. “Everyone shows up eager to get better every day. We have grown a lot since last year and have a great team dynamic. Coach Burrell pushes us to our potential and helps keep us focused. I am very excited for this year.”

Part of that confidence comes from the team’s offensive growth. “I would say our hitting has improved tremendously,” he said. That improvement has fueled optimism for what the group can accomplish together.

“Our goal is to make it to state,” Schneider said. “We have been putting the work in at school and outside of school as well. We all push each other to get better, and I think the discipline will pay off.”

Schneider credits the team’s adaptability as one of its key advantages on the field. “Our ability to put guys in different positions,” he said, “We have a lot of utility players.”

When it comes to preparation, Schneider keeps things simple and focused. “I make sure I am warmed up and loose,” he said. Those consistent habits have helped him stay ready for the demanding roles he plays throughout the season.

His favorite moment as a Trojan so far reflects the thrill of competition and teamwork. “So far, my favorite memory is hitting a walk-off to send my team to the regional championship,” he said.

Looking ahead, Schneider has clear goals for life after high school. “To play baseball in college and then eventually take over the family farm,” he said.
