OUTLOOK
After capturing the Class 2A State Championship with an impressive 33-1 record, the Oklahoma Bible Academy Lady Trojans enter the 2024-25 season with a brand-new look. Head coach Randy Roth, now in his eighth year at OBA, will lead a retooled roster featuring just one returning starter from last year’s title run.
“The OBA Lady Trojans will have a totally different look coming off a Class 2A state championship,” said Roth. “There is just one returning starter from last season, senior Kami Jenkins.”
Jenkins (5-5, Sr., G) averaged 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game last season and was the only underclassman starter on the 2025 title team. Known for her clutch performances, she elevated her scoring average to 16 points per game during the state tournament, earning the nickname “Big House Kami Jenkins.”
Roth knows she’ll be vital to the Lady Trojans’ success once again. “Kami was the only underclassman that started for the 2025 Class 2A State Champion OBA Lady Trojans,” he said. “During the season, she averaged 8 ppg, but her biggest contribution came in the biggest moments.”
Alongside Jenkins, a trio of seniors — Kinley Johnson (5-3, G), Zofia Konczalska (5-9, G), and Ashlyn Young (5-2, G) — will step into leadership roles. “Seniors Kinley Johnson, Zofia Konczalska, and Ashlyn Young will be called upon to fill a void left by the talented senior class of 2025,” Roth said.
Johnson brings defensive tenacity, while Konczalska and Young add depth and experience in the backcourt. Konczalskaaveraged 2 points and 2 rebounds per game, and Young chipped in 2 points per game a season ago.
Sophomore Peyton Esau (5-10, F) and fellow sophomore Kinedi Fettke are expected to provide an inside presence for OBA this season. “Sophomores Peyton Esau and Kinedi Fettke will also be counted on to step up,” said Roth. Esau contributed 3.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game last season, showing flashes of potential in the post.
Freshman Holly Evatt rounds out the core group as a young player to watch. “Freshman Holly Evatt will be an underclassman to watch as well,” Roth said.
Despite the new faces and shifting roles, coach Roth is confident in the Lady Trojans’ ability to stay competitive. With Jenkins’ leadership, senior experience, and a promising mix of young talent, Oklahoma Bible Academy looks ready to write another winning chapter in its proud basketball tradition.
